Using AI to Build and Launch Remind
As a way to explore different AI tools, I designed and launched Remind. An app that helps people quit smoking. Using v0 and Loveable to build and experiment with AI-assisted product development.
Quitting smoking is a well-known problem. Many apps exist to support it but most feel outdated and uninspiring. There’s an opportunity to serve people better with a modern and thoughtful solution that feels as good as it works.
Core screens
❤️ Why enables users to define their reason for quitting and create a private vision board. Others can contribute encouraging messages offering support without making it public.
✅ Check-in is a simple flow that captures recent activity, mood, and notes. This context feeds into the AI Coach making its responses more personalized and actually helpful.
🔼 Progress so users can track their streaks and see their mood trends over time, reinforcing the emotional and behavioural benefits of quitting through visible progress.
💬 Coach is an AI-powered chat experience built with the OpenAI API. It provides quick, encouraging responses and subtly teaches users how to interact with AI for support and reflection.
Stack
Going from idea → working product in hours
ChatGPT to refine idea and map out flows and logic
Useful to use ChatGPT as a CTO and prompt it to ask questions to go deeper understanding use cases and uncovering edge cases
v0 to build the app
I found v0 (and Cursor) the friendliest AI tool to build with shadcn UI components
Figma to visualise some branding and aesthetic
I tried not to use Figma but couldn’t resist
Lovable to build and publish the landing page
Out of all the AI tools I tested Loveable and the Builder.io plugin were the most reliable to output the design that aligns most with that in Figma
Supabase for handling user account management
Resend for sending emails and reminders
For MVP, Remind is fully functional as a web app. Users can install it directly on their devices by adding it to their home screen offering a near-native experience. Next steps could include wrapping the app with Capacitor enabling distribution via the App Store and Google Play and unlock native features like push notifications.

Built mostly with v0 and Loveable, the project was an exploration of how different AI design and development tools can really speed up product creation to test and validate ideas. It's a living prototype and a foundation for future improvements.
The experience also deepened my workflow with tools like Cursor, Tailwind, shadcn ui, etc. Helping me produce more realistic prototypes faster and ship production-ready code.
